The celebration of the quinceañera is a traditon in Latinamerican countries. When a girl celebrates her 15th birthday, she goes to the church to give thanks to God for the gift of life, and to receive a blessing from the priest. When this celebration is done in the proper context, it is a beautiful testimony to the community.
At the Cathedral Parish, we offer three options for families to celebrate this rite of passage.
We offer Masses every day of the week. After Mass the priest will give the quinceañera a blessing, either in English or in Spanish. The girl will be able to say a prayer of thanksgiving and present a bouquet of flowers to our Blessed Mother. There will be no special seating for the quinceanera or her family, nor especial decorations.

We offer a yearly communal celebrations of quinceañeras in Spanish. It takes place on the last Saturday of July at 2 pm. The quinceañera will be assigned at least 2 pews for her family and cortege. No special chairs nor kneelers will be provided, nor allowed. Within a month of the celebration, parents may ask for contact information of other families scheduled for the same Mass, so that you can make arrengements for decorations following all parish guidelines.

Our parish is blessed to celebrate weddings most Saturdays of the year. On the rare occasion when we do not have a wedding, a quinceanera may be celebrated at 2 pm at the Cathedral Church. The girl will be provided a chair and a kneeler in front of the sanctuary, and the family will be allowed to decorate following our parish guidelines. Because weddings take priority, the dates become available only 9 months out. Our staff will not "save" the date earlier than 9 months.
Requirements:
Cost: $500 which needs to be paid in full 1 month before the celebration.
