The sacrament of confirmation is a profound moment in a young Catholic's life. It completes the grace of baptism by sealing the individual with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, marking them as a full member of the Church. Through confirmation, the baptized are strengthened to live out their faith more courageously and bear witness to Christ in every aspect of their lives. This sacrament is not just a personal milestone but a communal celebration that enriches the entire Church community.
Our confirmation preparation program spans a full year and is open to students in 7th grade, marking the beginning of an important phase in their faith formation. What makes our program unique is its focus on involving the entire family. Our Family of Faith program ensures that both the student and their family grow together in their understanding and practice of the Catholic faith. This approach helps to create a strong, faith-filled environment at home that supports the student's spiritual growth.
We understand that families with students attending Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools already have religious education as part of their curriculum. However, it is important for these families to also register for and attend our confirmation prep program. While Bishop Heelan provides a solid foundation in religious education, our program is specifically geared towards family involvement, recognizing that sacraments and their preparation take place within the parish community.
